June Pattern Roundup

So I know it is July

and I've been incommunicado lately. June went by in a blur of teething and illness and then last week we were able to take the whole week for a family staycation. We are all officially sick of each other!

But now it's time to make up for lost time, starting with June's Pattern Roundup.

Pullover

Frances, Jennifer Wood

I love a good cabled sweater. And while this might not be practical for 90 something degree weather, it is never too early to start thinking about Fall!

Cardigan

Rosala, Anna Johanna

I love the gothic appeal of this first photo. The pattern page displays some other color options, but now all I can dream of is a lightweight black sweater with lace panels. Of course I am also much more waifish and walking on the moors, but this will at least get me part of the way there.

Hat

Great Ocean Road Beanie, Georgie Nicolson

Speaking of waifish daydreams, this hat brings all the whimsy that might be lacking from that fantasy. I love the simple design and color choices. And I bet this is super warm under the color work, which is a must if you're wintering at the beach.

Shawl

Cockle Shells, Kat Riddell

And if you choose to summer at the beach you might want to take this pattern along. I know the pendulum has swung far from shawletts into wearable blankets, but sometimes you want a little something to keep the breeze off your shoulders.

Socks

How I Roll, Mara Catherine Bryner

I've said it before and I'll say it again -- ankle socks are the best. This is from the same designer who is responsible for Jelly Rolls and Rose City Rollers. This time she's designed the perfect sock recipe for scraps, blending colors in both toe-up and top-down patterns.

For the Babies

Honeycomb Newsboy, Katherine Stevenson

Knitting patterns for boys are more difficult to come by, so when they show up I am so in. You know Pasha will be getting one of these this winter. Couldn't you just die?

Honorable Mention

How Many Dolls (In Your Pockets?), Winterludes Dolls

This is such a cute idea. Such a fun way to have your cake (a simple sweater) and eat it too (adorable colorwork!)

As always there is absolutely no way for me to highlight all of the amazing patterns that came out in June. Tell us your favorite new release in the comments!
