There's been a lot of insanity in the world lately.
Terrible things have happened with the threat of more terrible things. It's easy to get bogged down in fear and anxiety, and lose sight of what one fears for. I'm lucky. The thing I fear for is in my lap as I write this, dreaming whatever sweet thoughts babies dream. The world may be going to hell in a hand basket, but my son is on the verge of crawling, so in our little world there is always hope.
Today is Thanksgiving in the States, a time when we eat too much, shop too much, and try to forget the legacy if colonialism. But despite all of this we also gather with family or friends and declare ourselves thankful for our many blessings. So today, as I try to convince Pasha that his grandparents won't disappear if he takes a nap, I wanted to take the time to say thank you. Thank you for spending your time with me in my little corner of the internet. I hope you have found some light in a world that feels as if it has grown increasingly dark. I hope today brings you joy wherever you are.
