Of Festivals and Costumes

It's November!

But seriously, where has the time gone? I know people said time would fly by after I had Pasha, and they weren't kidding. I can't believe this little guy is already five months old.

Last weekend was another first for him -- his first fiber festival. The Southeast Animal Fiber Fair (SAFF) takes place about an hour from my parents' place, so on Friday Pasha and I crashed into town and kidnapped my mom for a Saturday adventure.

It's been a few years since I was at SAFF and in that time the event has changed significantly. There were very few animals (though we did meet a baby who was Pasha's age) and a greater emphasis on retail. While I do enjoy a good marketplace I was sad by the lack of critters to which to introduce Pasha. Taking a baby shopping isn't nearly as fun as taking a baby to visit the animals.

But don't get me wrong, we still had a good time. I get overwhelmed by choice easily, so it was actually quite good for my budget that there were so many booths to check out.

And because we were already in town we stuck around to celebrate Pasha's first Halloween.

Did you know that if you take a baby trick-or-treating you get to eat the candy? It's such a great system.
